Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is a fantasy novel composed by British creator J. K. Rowling. The first novel in the Harry Potter series and Rowling’s introduction novel, it follows Harry Potter, a youthful wizard who discovers his otherworldly legacy on his eleventh birthday celebration, when he receives a letter of acknowledgment to Hogwarts School of Black magic and Wizardry.
